When I was a little girl my sisters and I would often visit my grandma for the weekend. My favorite memories from those visits are when my grandma and I would get up before everyone else and have breakfast together on her back porch. Her little back yard was full of flowers and after breakfast we would go out to look at them. Sometimes, I even got to pick a few! "Fancy's Collection" is a whimsical look at those flowers and the wonderful warm feelings thinking of them still gives me. This piece was the very first in the series, painted in a naive fashion, as I might have painted it when I was a child. |
